.
You will receive 1/8th" Dacron cord for installation. The length of cord will be approximately 2x the perimeter length of your top, plus 10%.
A note about our manufacturing process- Your old top is digitally scanned and scaled using
Computer Aided Design (CAD
) and your new top is produced using
Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
processes.
Each top is precision
LASER cut
with sealed edges on all panels and sub-components. Our tops feature 2 inch wide, reinforced edging consisting of 3 layers of fabric. This critical difference sets us apart from other manufacturers producing only 2 layers edging.
We have found the wider edging with additional layers results in a stiffer and stronger edge- where the stress is highest.
Please contact us for any additional custom work (reinforced areas, rod holder grommets etc.) for an estimate- most minor work is done at no additional cost!
How to Measure for a replacement T-Top
1. Determine the general shape of your frame
2. Measure length, width, and if necessary- any bows
3. Determine the corner radius
There are 3 general frame shapes.
1. Mostly square - Type A
2. Mostly square with front bow- Type B
3. Mostly square with front and rear bow- Type C
This is Type A frame.
Simply measure the length and width from inside the frame. Measure the corner radius using a carpenter’s square (see below)
This is a Type B frame
.
Measure the length and width as with a type A frame. One additional measurement of the length includes the bow in the front.
In this example the length is 72”, the width is 56”, and the front bow measurement is 79” - it is taken from the rear of the frame to the peak of the bow.
Then measure the radius. On this frame the corner radius is a bit tricky. You can usually safely assume the upper corners are the same as the lower. In this case the radius is 6”
This is a type C frame.
Measure length and width as above. The upper bow (forward bow) should be measured from an imaginary line drawn across from where the corners would be if they were not “rounded”
The lower bow (rear bow) is measure the same way, from an imaginary line to the peak distance of the bow.
In this example length is 72”, width is 56”, upper bow is 7” and lower bow is 7” also.
Radius measurement should be done using the edge and the same imaginary line used to measure the bow. In this case, also 6”.
Radius Measurement
Using a carpenter’s square, or two rulers set perpendicular to each other, place next to the curved corner. Where the curve sections intersect the square, record the number. In this example the curve measure (radius) is 5”- it’s simple!
If your frame doesn’t fit these descriptions, contact us and we will send you the material necessary to make a pattern of your frame for a small charge (including shipping to you).
