Description
This listing is for two real photo postcards of an early morning fire on November 30, 1920 in Concord, New Hampshire which destroyed a five story building housing White's Opera House, the plant of the Concord Daily Patriot and other businesses. The building was located at the corner of Park and Main Streets, and the fire took 8 hours to suppress. Both images were taken in late morning or early afternoon, with one showing firemen still pouring jets of water into the building. Fortunately no lives were lost.Whoever owned these cards put the date on the upper left of one image and on another wrote the initials "B.W." adjacent to some 4th story windows--presumably his office. Images are crisp and cards in very good condition.
