    Description

Fabulous antique tintype.  This is a studio portrait tintype and measures approx 2.5 x 3.5 inches.  This portrait features a Victorian woman who is dressed very well.  She has a decorative dress, lace gloves and a decorative parasol.  The man appears to be a
fireman, I can see a symbol under his bow tie with the number one, hook and ladder.  His hat letters are hard to read, but I believe they are K H & L 1.  I think I also see a carnation next to the number 1 symbol, white shirt and white gloves...which looks similar to parade or fancy event uniform.  I think he also has a fireman's belt buckle; interesting he is holding a fan.  This tintype does have some damage, there are some black spots heard the middle of the man's body next to the belt buckle...it actually feels like black paint that might be stuck on but not going to mess with that.  He also has surface scratches  and light dents.  No markings, purchased from an estate in Missouri.  Enjoy!
