1930s Horse Show Programs -- CHIPPEWA TRAIL CAMP for GIRLS -- Elk Lake, Michigan

This lot contains four items related to the horse shows held annually
for campers at the Chippewa
Trail Camp for Girls on Elk Lake, Michigan, in the Grand Traverse Bay Region. They are all shown together in the first picture, then, item by item, they are:
Pictures 2 and 3 (left): Program for the Seventh Annual Horse Show, Chippewa Trail Camp, August 22, 1933. Two pages glued to the back list eight events. It measures 5-1/2" x 7".
Pictures 2 and 3 (right): Program for the Eighth Annual Horse Show, Chippewa Trail Camp, August 23, 1934. A single page glued to the back lists six events. It measures 6" x 8-1/2".
Pictures 4 through 10: Program for the Ninth Annual Horse Show, Chippewa Trail Camp, August 21, 1935. Multiple pages glued to the back list six events. It measures 6" x 9".
Picture 11 and 12: A three-layered sign, with a cut-out horse's head and lettering, measuring about 8" in diameter. On the back is a handwritten message to "Peanut" from "Your Peanut Shell." The message reads: "I got this card from the Traverse City Horse Show. I thought you would like it cause you like Chippewa." It has thumbtack damage at the top, as shown in the pictures.
They were
found among papers and other items associated with Barbara Henderson, of Pleasant Ridge, Michigan, whose name appears on at least two of the programs, and who I believe was either the writer or the addressee of the note on the back of the fourth item. I believe she is also responsible for the handwritten notes and checkmarks on the programs. Please see our seller list for other items from the same source.
