These large, White Pine logs will be sawn to a uniform 10" stack height and then hand-peeled on two sides the old fashioned way, using draw knives and muscle leaving the knots, character, and the natural surface of the
log.
The logs are then stacked to air-dry a minimum of about 12 weeks in the summer.  Just prior to shipment, we will peel the logs again to give them a very fresh, clean, peeled surface.  We call this our double-peeled method.
These logs are cut
to
order, so please order early if you want them to be dry when you build. To completely air-dry a log of this size it could take almost a year.  Some people build with them before that and let them dry in place.
You would get random length logs averaging 70% 8’ lengths and 30% 10’ and 12’ lengths. All logs are a custom order and can be adjusted according to your desired plan.  These logs would make a gorgeous and very fuel efficient log home.
The average log thickness varies from 12" to 14", so it will be easy on the heating and cooling bills.
Other Options:
If you would like to save money, you may receive your shipment once the logs have been peeled the first time. This is called our single peel option.
The logs run about 10% less in cost from our double peeled. The logs would be spaced for drying and put into bundles and shipped to your building site. We could also air-dry at our mill for a time that would have to be determined.

“The Natural Corner” is our unique way of giving your log home that handcrafted look and feel without the extra expense of a full scribe log home.
What you get are enough logs where we stop the saw and leave the logs full round. These would be placed on the corners as you butt-and-pass the logs. You would need one tail per course, per corner. Some on-site notching would be needed as each tail varies in size and shape.
